The story of a photographer

Hello there! We're delighted to have you here, exploring whether Aperture Horizons Photography is the perfect fit for your needs.

Let's start with an introduction. I'm David Edscorn, originally hailing from South-western NH and currently based in Winchester, VA. When I'm not behind the lens, you can find me indulging in long hikes through the woods, strumming tunes on my guitar, and cherishing every moment with my wife and daughter. Photography has been my passion for close to two decades, and every day, I strive to refine my craft through both hands on experience and the many lessons learned from my own journey. When I first started out, I was handed an old school 35mm film camera. Starting with film really pushed me into learning how to capture one shot and have it be the best, the first time. Because of this practice, I very infrequently use any sort of burst setting, meaning I capture the moment exactly on time, every time.

This passion has evolved into a way of life and a service I'm proud to offer to others. Drawing from years of learning and growth, I've cultivated a lifestyle that revolves around seeking out the small details and finding joy in every click of the shutter. With every photo I take, I aim to encapsulate a moment in time, a memory, an emotion – something that can be treasured for years to come. And when I work with clients, my goal is simple: to capture those same moments and emotions for them.

Aperture Horizons Photography is the culmination of this journey. Locally rooted yet internationally recognized, we're dedicated to helping couples, families, and individuals preserve their most cherished memories, ensuring they last a lifetime.

Some photographers take reality... and impose the domination of their own thought and spirit. Others come before reality more tenderly and a photograph to them is an instrument of love and revelation.
